Proposed Final Plan: QM17 Express

The proposed QM17 would mostly maintain its existing routing along the local portion of the route, but would be realigned at its eastern end, terminating on Seagirt Avenue & Beach 9 Street near the Roy Reuther Houses, instead of serving Beach 19 Street/Beach 20 Street. Along the non-stop portion, buses would utilize the Long Island Expressway in both directions. Local bus service would still be provided on Beach 19 Street/Beach 20 Street by the proposed Q22. Subway service is also available at the Far Rockaway-Mott Av Station.

As an Express route, stops on local streets would be spaced slightly further apart than existing to speed up travel time and improve reliability. Along the highway, Express routes travel non-stop to and from Manhattan.

Weekday peak frequencies would be slightly decreased due to low ridership on some trips. Service would continue to operate during the same hours in both directions.
