About Customer Service Centers
We're making it easier than ever for subway riders to get the help they need with common issues or questions. Customer Service Centers are now open in several subway stations, with more to come this year.
These new facilities will be staffed 24/7 by New York City Transit station agents, who will be ready to assist customers with things such as using OMNY, signing up to be a part of our Reduced-Fare program and receiving a Reduced-Fare MetroCard, or switching an existing Reduced-Fare MetroCard to OMNY.
Previously, customers would need to visit our Customer Service Center at 3 Stone Street in Lower Manhattan for in-person help with these services. Now, they'll be offered in more locations—saving customers time and effort.
The new program is part of a historic agreement between the MTA and TWU Local 100 to expand and enhance the role of station agents. Now, they can provide customer service support outside of subway station booths.
Station agents will be able to meet riders where they are and provide hands-on, 24/7 support. They'll be able to help customers with wayfinding in stations and on platforms, using fare machines or OMNY readers, providing information during service disruptions, and reporting issues related to in-station amenities like elevators or turnstiles.
Station agents will also be able to provide help to customers who need assistance, such as people with disabilities or seniors.
