We hope everyone enjoyed the unseasonably warm weather this week!
If you're looking to get out of town for some leaf-peeping or other fall fun as we finally welcome that crisp fall air, we've got good news. Starting this Saturday, October 7, Metro-North is running extra Hudson Line service in addition to our regular hourly weekend service.
Keep an eye on New York State's fall foliage report to see when the leaves will be in peak color, or enjoy the stunning Hudson Valley scenery and visit quaint, historic towns like Peekskill, Cold Spring, and Beacon. The extra trains will be running through November 5.
Taking off from JFK Airport? Your best bet will be taking the
train (running on the line in Manhattan) to Sutphin Blvd-Archer Av-JFK Airport or LIRR to Jamaica, as and trains won't be running in most of Queens.Here's what else is happening this weekend (also available as a handy map):

Major subway service changes
trains, Manhattan and Brooklyn
trains are not running between Bowling Green and Crown Hts-Utica Av/New Lots Av in either direction from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of track maintenance. trains will run to New Lots Av all weekend.
- For service between Borough Hall and Franklin Av-Medgar Evers College, take the or trains.
- Take the train between Franklin Av-Medgar Evers College and New Lots Av.
- Transfer between and trains at Fulton St.
trains, Bronx
trains are not running between E 180 St and Eastchester-Dyre Av in either direction from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of electrical work.
- Free shuttle buses make stops between E 180 St and Eastchester-Dyre Av.
- On Sunday, service begins after 10 a.m.
trains, Brooklyn and Queens
trains are not running between Euclid Av and Howard Beach-JFK Airport/Lefferts Blvd in either direction from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of track replacement.
- Free shuttle buses are running along two routes:
- Local between Euclid Av and Lefferts Blvd/Howard Beach-JFK Airport.
- Express between Euclid Av and Howard Beach-JFK Airport. (Euclid Av-bound buses stop at Aqueduct-North Conduit Av.)
- Look for signs outside your station for walking directions to the shuttle bus stop.
- Between Inwood-207 St and Euclid Av
- Between Howard Beach-JFK Airport and Far Rockaway-Mott Av
trains are running in two sections:
- Travel tip: For direct service to/from JFK Airport, take the train to Sutphin Blvd-Archer Av-JFK Airport.
trains, Brooklyn
trains are not stopping at Coney Island-Stillwell Av from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of track maintenance. The last stop on Brooklyn-bound trains is Bay 50 St.
- Free shuttle buses run between Bay 50 St and Coney Island-Stillwell Av.
- Consider taking the or train and transferring at Broadway-Lafayette St , Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr , or 62 St-New Utrecht Av .
trains, Manhattan
From 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, World Trade Center-bound trains are running on the line from W 4 St-Washington Sq to 2 Av, the last stop. Queens-bound trains are running on the line from 2 Av to 5 Av/53 St. This is because of structural maintenance.
- For service to/from 7 Av, take the to/from 47-50 St-Rockefeller Ctr.
- For service to/from 50 St, 42 St-Port Authority Bus Terminal, 34 St-Penn Station, 23 St, 14 St, Spring St, Canal St, and World Trade Center (Chambers St) take the or train.
- Note: There is no uptown service at 50 St, 23 St, or Spring St. For service to/from these stations, take a downtown or train.
trains, Brooklyn and Queens
trains are not running between Crescent St and Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer in either direction from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of accessibility improvement work.
- Free J90 shuttle buses are running between Crescent St and 121 St, connecting to Jamaica-Van Wyck . Look for signs outside your station for walking directions to the shuttle bus stop.
- For service to/from Sutphin Blvd-Archer Av-JFK Airport and Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer, take the train.
- trains are running between Broad St and Crescent St.
trains, Manhattan and Brooklyn
trains aren't running between 34 St-Herald Sq and Prospect Park in either direction from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of track replacement.
- Free Q90 shuttle buses are running between Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr and Prospect Park, making a stop at 7 Av. Look for signs outside your station for walking directions to the shuttle bus stop.
- For service to/from 14 St-Union Sq, Canal St, and Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr, take trains.
- For direct service between Midtown and Brooklyn, take the train. Transfer to/from trains at 34 St-Herald Sq and Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr.
- Between 96 St and 34 St-Herald Sq
- Between Prospect Park and Coney Island-Stillwell Av

Uptown
trains are running express from Times Sq-42 St to 96 St from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of station improvement work.- For service to/from bypassed stations, take a downtown train.
- trains run every 12 minutes Saturday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. This is to allow uptown trains to share the express track in Manhattan
- trains run approximately every 15 minutes Sunday from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. because trains are running on a single track at 3 Av-149 St.
Wakefield-bound
trains are running express from Gun Hill Rd to Wakefield-241 St because of track maintenance.- For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Manhattan-bound train.
trains, Bronx
Woodlawn-bound
trains are running express from 167 St to Mosholu Pkwy from 5:45 a.m. Saturday to 8 p.m. Sunday because of track maintenance.- For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Manhattan-bound train.
Every other Pelham Bay Park-bound
train will terminate at 3 Av-138 St from 7:45 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday because of station improvement work.- To continue your trip, transfer to a Pelham Bay Park-bound train at 3 Av-138 St or wait for a Pelham Bay Park-bound train at your origin station.
Manhattan-bound
trains are running express from Pelham Bay Park to Parkchester from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of station improvement work.- For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Pelham Bay Park-bound train.

Manhattan-bound
trains are running express from Mets-Willets Point to 74 St-Broadway from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 10 p.m. Sunday because of station improvement work.- For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Flushing-bound train.

trains are running express from Canal St to 59 St-Columbus Circle from 11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of structural maintenance.- For service to/from bypassed stations, take a downtown train.

Brooklyn-bound
trains are running express from Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr to:- 36 St
- 59 St
from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of electrical work. For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Manhattan-bound train.
- Note: There is no service at Coney Island-Stillwell Av this weekend. The last stop on Brooklyn-bound trains is Bay 50 St.

trains are not stopping at Briarwood and Manhattan-bound trains are not stopping at Sutphin Blvd and Briarwood from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of electrical work.- For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Jamaica Center-bound or Jamaica-bound train.
Downtown
trains are running express from 34 St-Herald Sq to W 4 St-Washington Sq from 11:15 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of electrical work.- For service to/from bypassed stations, take an uptown train.
Long Island Rail Road service changes
All Branches
Some trains are running on a modified schedule from midnight Saturday to 4 a.m. Monday because of accessibility improvements at Lindenhurst.

Babylon Branch
Service is reduced and trains are not stopping at Lindenhurst from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday because of accessibility improvements at Lindenhurst.
- During daytime hours, Babylon Branch trains that normally run to and from Grand Central are canceled. Trains to and from Penn Station run on a revised schedule. Transfer at Jamaica for Grand Central.
- Lindenhurst riders should use Copiague or Babylon stations instead.
- The last trains to stop at Lindenhurst are the 11:13 p.m. from Grand Central (departing Lindenhurst at 12:22 a.m.) and 11:49 p.m. to Penn Station on Friday night. Service resumes with the 4:28 a.m. from Penn Station (departing Lindenhurst at 5:29 a.m.) and the 4:16 a.m. to Penn Station on Monday morning.

Montauk Branch
Buses replace trains between Babylon and Montauk from 12:30 a.m. Saturday to 4 a.m. Monday because of track work near Patchogue.
- Consider using the Ronkonkoma Branch if you can, as buses will take up to 75 minutes longer than normal train trips.
- Due to the nationwide bus driver shortage, school buses are supplementing our regular coach bus service.
- The last trains to run on Friday night are the 10:05 p.m. from Jamaica, 10:04 p.m. from Montauk, and 11:30 p.m. from Patchogue. Service resumes with the 4:10 a.m. from Speonk and the 5:40 a.m. from Babylon on Monday morning.

Metro-North Railroad service changes
Port Jervis Line
Trains are not running between Port Jervis and Suffern in either direction on Saturday and Sunday.
- Buses are running between Ramsey-Route 17 and all stations between Sloatsburg and Port Jervis.
- Trains are running between Hoboken and Suffern on a modified schedule. Express trains are not running.
- Riders traveling from Otisville and Salisbury Mills to Hoboken and New York should consider using the Middletown or Harriman stations instead. Only local bus service is available, which does not connect with the train at Ramsey-Route 17.
- Bus service begins with the 12:39 a.m. from Hoboken early Saturday morning and train service resumes with the 12:39 a.m. from Hoboken early Monday morning.
