How to submit comments at MTA board and committee meetings

Updated Jan 26, 2023

We want to hear from you!

The MTA welcomes public comments at our board and committee meetings from a range of New Yorkers.

Board meetings

Those who wish to speak at the board meeting need to register, either online or in person at 2 Broadway. The registration window opens 35 minutes before the beginning of the Board meeting and closes 5 minutes before it begins.

Remote speakers have the opportunity to make their comments live, during the meeting, but must register online during the meeting registration period. Check back here on the meeting date to access the online registration form. Once you have registered to provide live remote comments you will receive an e-mail with instructions on how to access the meeting’s remote public comment virtual session.

The Board meeting includes up to 60 minutes of in-person and remote comments, combined. Registered speakers beyond that time frame are invited to separately record their comments. All comments are delivered to the MTA Board and posted online. Statements must be about agenda items only.

There is a two-minute speaking limit and speaking time may not be transferred.

The MTA's full board meeting will take place on Monday, January 30 at 12:30 p.m. Registration to speak at the meeting will open at 11:55 a.m. and close at 12:25 p.m.

Committee meetings

Those who wish to speak at the committee meetings also need to register ahead of time. Registration opens 20 minutes before and closes 5 minutes before the scheduled start of each committee meeting.

Public speakers can make their comments in person at any Committee meeting. To accommodate those who cannot travel to 2 Broadway, all Committee meetings will accommodate both in person and remote live public comments. Check back here in the 20 minutes prior to these meeting start times to access the online registration form. Once you have registered to provide live remote comments you will receive an email with instructions on how to access the meeting’s remote public comment virtual session.

Committee meetings include up to 60 minutes of comments. Statements must be about agenda items only. There is a two-minute speaking limit and speaking time may not be transferred.

In January, the MTA's committee meetings will take place jointly, beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, January 30. Registration will open at 7:55 a.m. and close at 8:25 a.m.
