If you’re traveling to or from a destination in Queens or Nassau County, you may be able to take a local bus at the 165 St/Jamaica Bus Terminal, a short bus ride away from the LIRR’s Jamaica Station. This major bus hub offers frequent bus connections with destinations throughout Queens and Nassau County. MTA staff are available at the terminal if you need assistance.
The 165 St/Jamaica Bus Terminal will soon undergo reconstruction and be replaced by the nearby 168 St Interim Bus Terminal. Until then, it will continue to provide a vital service for customers in Southeastern Queens and Nassau County. Check back here for more updates soon.
Getting to and from the bus terminal
To get to the 165 St/Jamaica Bus Terminal from Jamaica Station: Take the Q6, Q8, Q9, or Q41 bus from Sutphin Blvd/Archer Av. The bus ride to the terminal takes approximately 10 minutes. Exit the station to street level at the east end of the platform, then take a left north onto Sutphin Blvd. The bus stops in the direction of the terminal are on the right side of Sutphin Blvd facing north away from the station and are clearly signposted with their routes.
To get to Jamaica Station from the 165 St/Jamaica Bus Terminal: Take the Q6 to Sutphin Blvd/91 Av, the Q8 or Q41 to Sutphin Blvd/Archer Av, or the Q9 to Sutphin Blvd/Jamaica Av. The bus ride to Jamaica Station takes approximately 10 minutes. Exit the bus at Sutphin Blvd/Archer Av for continuing LIRR service from Jamaica Station.
Fares: The fare for most riders is $2.90, which includes a transfer to your next MTA or NICE bus. You can tap to pay with OMNY or use a MetroCard. (Note that if you want to transfer to a NICE bus, you must use MetroCard, because NICE does not accept OMNY.)
