Happy Thanksgiving, riders! This year, and every year, we're thankful for you.
If you're traveling this week or sticking around the city for the holiday, a heads up: Subways run on a Sunday schedule on Thanksgiving Day, and regularly for the rest of the weekend. There are also extra LIRR and Metro-North trains, and other changes — get more details.
Here's what's going on this weekend (also viewable as a handy map):
- trains aren't running at all overnight
- Manhattan-bound trains are running on the line in Brooklyn.
- trains aren't running between Kings Hwy and Coney Island-Stillwell Av
- trains aren't running in most of Manhattan
- trains aren't running between Myrtle Av and Delancey St-Essex St
- Uptown trains are running on the line between Brooklyn and Manhattan
- trains aren't running in most of Brooklyn

Major subway service changes
trains, Manhattan
trains aren't running at all between 11:30 p.m. Friday and 6:45 a.m. Saturday; 11:45 p.m. Saturday to 8:45 a.m. Sunday; and 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday. This is because of track maintenance.
- Free shuttle buses are running between Harlem-148 St and 135 St . Look for signs outside your station for walking directions to the shuttle bus stop.
- For service to/from stations between 135 St and Times Sq-42 St, take the train.
- Reminder: Overnight, trains already don't run south of Times Sq-42 St. Take trains instead.
trains, Brooklyn
From 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday, there's no Manhattan-bound
service between Coney Island-Stillwell Av and 36 St. All Manhattan-bound trains will run on the between those stations. This is because of track replacement work.- For Manhattan-bound service from these stations, take a Coney Island-bound train to 62 St/New Utrecht Av or Coney Island-Stillwell Av, then transfer.
- For service to these stations, take a Manhattan-bound train to 62 St/New Utrecht Av or 36 St, then transfer.
trains, Brooklyn
trains are not running between Kings Hwy and Coney Island-Stillwell Av in either direction from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of signal modernization work.
- Free shuttle buses are running between Kings Hwy and Coney Island-Stillwell Av. Look for signs outside your station for walking directions to the shuttle bus stop.
- For direct service to/from Coney Island-Stillwell Av, take trains.
- trains are running between Jamaica-179 St and Kings Hwy.
- Note: trains aren't running between Prospect Park and Coney Island-Stillwell Av.
trains, Manhattan and Brooklyn
From 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday,
trains aren't running between Delancey St-Essex St and Broad St in either direction, and trains aren't running between Myrtle Av and Delancey St-Essex St in either direction. This is because of track replacement.- For service to/from Lower Manhattan, consider nearby stations at Canal St, Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall, Fulton St, Wall St, and Bowling Green.
- trains are running between Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer and Delancey St-Essex St.
- trains are running between Middle Village-Metropolitan Av and Myrtle Av.
trains, Manhattan and Brooklyn
trains aren't running between Prospect Park and Coney Island-Stillwell Av in either direction from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of track replacement.
- Free shuttle buses are running along two routes:
- Local between Prospect Park and Kings Hwy.
- Express between Prospect Park and Kings Hwy, then local to/from Coney Island-Stillwell Av.
- Look for signs outside your station for walking directions to the shuttle bus stop.
- For direct service to/from Coney Island-Stillwell Av, take trains.
- trains are running between 96 St and Prospect Park.
Uptown
trains are running on the line from Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr to Canal St from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of track replacement.- For service to/from Court St, Whitehall St, Rector St, Cortlandt St, and City Hall, take a downtown train, or use nearby stations.
- Overnight, trains are only running between Bay Ridge-95 St and Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr, the last stop, and are running on the express track between 36 St and Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr. Take trains to continue your trip.
- Reminder: Board uptown trains on the platform at Canal St.
Uptown
trains are running on the express track from Canal St to 34 St-Herald Sq from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of track replacement.- For service to/from bypassed stations, take a downtown train.
- Overnight, when trains normally run local, uptown trains will run on the express track between these stations.
- Reminder: trains don't run in Manhattan overnight.
Other service changes
trains, Manhattan
Downtown
trains are running on the express track from 14 St to Chambers St from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of track maintenance.- For service to/from bypassed stations, take an uptown train.
- Overnight, when trains normally run local, downtown trains will run express between these stations.
trains, Bronx
Manhattan-bound
trains are running on the express track from Burnside Av to 149 St-Grand Concourse from 5:45 a.m. Saturday to 8 p.m. Sunday because of track maintenance.- For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Woodlawn-bound train, or use nearby stations on the Grand Concourse.
trains, Queens
Manhattan-bound
trains are running express from Mets-Willets Point to 74 St-Broadway from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 10 p.m. Sunday because of station improvement work.- For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Flushing-bound train.
trains, Queens
Forest Hills-bound
trains are running on the express track from Queens Plaza to Jackson Hts-Roosevelt Av from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of station improvement work.- For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Manhattan-bound train.
- Overnight, when trains normally run local, Queens-bound trains will run on the express track between these stations.
- Reminder: trains don't run in Queens overnight.
