If you're looking for a fun weekend activity, may we suggest the New York Transit Museum Parade of Trains? Ride the rails in historic style on Saturday and Sunday by hopping on and off a selection of the museum’s vintage fleet at the Brighton Beach or Kings Hwy stations. Admission is free with your paid subway fare!
Here's what's happening this weekend:
- trains aren't running between Dyckman St and 137 St-City College
- trains are running on the line between W 4 St-Wash Sq and Jay St-MetroTech

Major subway service changes
trains, Manhattan
trains are not running between Dyckman St and 137 St-City College in either direction from 11:15 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of station improvement work.
- trains are running in two sections:
- Between Van Cortlandt Park-242 St and Dyckman St, bypassing 207 St southbound.
- Between 137 St-City College and South Ferry.
- Free shuttle buses are running along three routes:
- On St. Nicholas Av between 191 St and 168 St.
- On Broadway between 168 St and 137 St-City College.
- Between Dyckman St and Dyckman St .
- Look for signs outside your station for walking directions to the shuttle bus stop.
- Consider using nearby stations as an alternative for service between 207 St and 137 St-City College. Transfer to/from trains at 59 St-Columbus Circle.
trains, Manhattan and Brooklyn
trains are running on the line between W 4 St-Wash Sq and Jay St-MetroTech in both directions from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of track maintenance.
- For service to/from Spring St, Canal St, and Chambers St/World Trade Center, take the train. Transfer between and trains at W 4 St-Wash Sq.
- For service to/from Fulton St, take the to/from Delancey St-Essex St. Transfer between and trains at Delancey St-Essex St.
- As an alternative for service between Brooklyn and lower Manhattan, take the between Jay St-MetroTech and Cortlandt St. Transfer between and trains at Jay St-MetroTech.
- For service to/from High St, use the nearby York St station.
trains, Brooklyn
trains are not running between Church Av and Coney Island-Stillwell Av in either direction from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of signal modernization work.
- Free B90 shuttle buses are running between Church Av and Coney Island-Stillwell Av. Look for signs outside your station for walking directions to the shuttle bus stop.
- For direct service to/from W 8 St-NY Aquarium, take the train.
- For direct service to/from Coney Island-Stillwell Av, take trains.
- trains are running between Jamaica-179 St and Church Av.
trains, Brooklyn and Queens
trains are not running between Broadway Junction and Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer in either direction from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of track replacement.
- Free shuttle buses are running between Broadway Junction and 121 St and connect with the at Jamaica-Van Wyck. Look for signs outside your station for walking directions to the shuttle bus stop.
- For Sutphin Blvd-Archer Av-JFK Airport and Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer, take the instead.
- Transfer between trains and shuttle buses at Jamaica-Van Wyck.
- When exiting at Broadway Junction or Jamaica-Van Wyck, get a GO ticket to re-enter the subway.
- For AirTrain JFK, use the Howard Beach-JFK Airport station. Transfer at Broadway Junction.
- trains are running between Broad St and Broadway Junction.
trains, Brooklyn
trains are not running between Myrtle-Wyckoff Avs and Canarsie-Rockaway Pkwy in either direction from 3:30 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday because of track replacement work.
- Free shuttle buses are running between Myrtle-Wyckoff Avs and Canarsie-Rockaway Parkway. Look for signs outside your station for walking directions to the shuttle bus stop.
- For direct train service between Manhattan and East New York, consider taking the train between 14 St and Broadway Junction.
- trains are running between 8 Av and Myrtle-Wyckoff Avs.
trains, Manhattan and Brooklyn
From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, uptown trains are running on the line from Atlantic Av-Barcays Ctr to Canal St, and not stopping at DeKalb Av. Uptown trains are running on the line from DeKalb Av to Canal St. This is because of track maintenance.
- For service to/from DeKalb Av, Court St, Whitehall St, Rector St, Cortlandt St, and City Hall, take the train.
- Overnight, trains are only running between Bay Ridge-95 St and 59 St, the last stop. Take trains to continue your trip.
- Reminder: Board uptown trains on the platform at Canal St. Board uptown trains on the platform at Canal St.
42 St Shuttle trains, Manhattan
42 St Shuttle trains aren't running at all on Saturday and Sunday because of communications improvement work.
- For service between Times Sq-42 St and Grand Central-42 St, take the instead.
Other service changes
trains, Brooklyn
Manhattan-bound trains are running on the express track from Franklin Av-Medgar Evers College to Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of station work.
- For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Brooklyn-bound train.
- Note: Overnight, when trains normally run local, Manhattan-bound trains will run express between these stations instead.
- Reminder: trains don't run overnight in Brooklyn.
trains, Bronx
Manhattan-bound trains are running on the express track from Pelham Bay Park to Parkchester from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of station improvement work.
- For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Pelham Bay Park-bound train.
trains, Brooklyn
Manhattan-bound trains are running on the express track from:
- 59 St
- 36 St
to Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of electrical work.
- For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Brooklyn-bound train.
- Overnight, trains are only running between Bay Ridge-95 St and 59 St, the last stop. Take trains to continue your trip.
trains, Queens
Queens-bound trains are running on the express track from Jackson Hts-Roosevelt Av to Forest Hills-71 Av from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of station improvement work.
- For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Manhattan-bound train.
- Note: trains do not serve these stations overnight.
trains, Manhattan
Downtown trains are running on the express track from 34 St-Herald Sq to W 4 St-Wash Sq from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of accessibility upgrade work.
- For service to/from 23 St and 14 St, take an uptown train.
Long Island Rail Road service changes
All Branches
Special schedules are in effect on most branches all weekend while we install track and switches at Floral Park and Hicksville.
- Huntington and Ronkonkoma trains will run every hour all weekend. Trains will only run to/from Penn Station during daytime hours. Transfer at Jamaica for service to Grand Central.
- Service between Huntington and Port Jefferson will be reduced to every two hours.
- Many trains on other branches will run on adjusted schedules and transfer times may change. Plan your trip with the TrainTime app.
- On Sunday, eastbound Huntington and Ronkonkoma trains will skip Elmont-UBS Arena. Use a Hempstead Branch train instead.
