It is, once again, a hot one — and we hope everyone stays cool and hydrated during this weekend of extreme heat. (The city's Office of Emergency Management has some tips on staying cool.)
One way to beat the heat: Go to the beach! The Rockaway Park Shuttle is extended to Rockaway Blvd every weekend through Labor Day. That means you can take any train to Rockaway Blvd, then catch the shuttle to the Rockaways.
If Coney Island is more your speed, special express trains run every weekend through August 14. These provide nonstop service on the line from 59 St in Brooklyn to Coney Island-Stillwell Av.
For more details on how service will be affected across all modes of transit, check out our Planned Work tool and search for your subway, bus, or rail line.
These service changes are subject to change, so check the MTA homepage before heading out; it's where you'll find up-to-the-minute information on subway, bus, and rail service.
