Can you believe that July is just about halfway over? We sure can't. The good news is there's still plenty of summer left, and we hope you'll have the chance to have some fun around the city this weekend.
There are also plenty of service changes this weekend, and we're here to help you get around.
One significant change worth noting: Q trains are running in two sections while we complete track maintenance between Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr and Prospect Park. The good news: There will be express trains running from Manhattan to Coney Island for the next five weekends, with 45-minute trips from Times Square to the beach. There will still be local Q service between Coney Island and Prospect Park. See a map that shows how service will be affected.
Another important thing you should know: From 2 a.m. to approximately 6:30 a.m. Saturday morning, MetroCard vending machines will accept cash payments only while we make software upgrades. If you need to use a credit or debit card, refill your MetroCard ahead of time or tap and go with OMNY.
For more details on how service will be affected across all modes of transit, check out our Planned Work tool and search for your subway, bus, or rail line.
These service changes are subject to change, so check the MTA homepage before heading out; it's where you'll find up-to-the-minute information on subway, bus, and rail service.
