On Saturdays between July 6 and August 31, LIRR and Metro-North monthly ticket holders can travel anywhere on that railroad at no additional cost regardless of the stations printed on their ticket. Monthly ticket holders can also bring up to two additional passengers with them for just $1 per person each way.
This program is not valid on certain LIRR trains:
- Montauk Branch: The 7:13 a.m., 8:13 a.m., and 10:30 a.m. trains from Jamaica to Montauk
- Ronkonkoma Branch: The 7:58 a.m. train from Grand Central to Ronkonkoma and its connection, the 9:27 a.m. train from Ronkonkoma to Greenport
The program is also not valid on Metro-North Port Jervis or Pascack Valley Line trains.
Make sure you have your valid monthly ticket with you. For each additional passenger, buy a $1 Family Fare ticket in TrainTime, at a ticket machine or ticket office, or on board from the conductor. And, as always, you can't use an LIRR monthly ticket on Metro-North or vice versa.
