Veronica Vanterpool is Principal of V Squared Strategies, LLC, which offers consulting services throughout the New York metro region. Ms. Vanterpool is the former executive director of the Tri-State Transportation Campaign, a nonprofit advocacy organization, where she spent 10 years working towards a more balanced, transit-friendly, and equitable transportation network throughout New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

Since 2007, Ms. Vanterpool’s work has focused on the intersection of transportation and community development, seeking to eliminate inequities in the transportation network, address environmental challenges, and build more resilient communities. She has worked on a number of key transportation and infrastructure initiatives, including congestion pricing, Vision Zero, the new Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge, the transformation of the Sheridan Expressway in the South Bronx, Connecticut’s bus rapid transit system, and NYC Transit’s Select Bus Service. Ms. Vanterpool is a frequent speaker at legislative hearings, symposiums, and other forums relating to transportation matters, including federal transportation policy. She served on Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo’s Mass Transit Task Force for the Tappan Zee Bridge and the MTA's Transportation Reinvention Commission, among other commissions. She has also led many workshops and training sessions to assist local communities with transportation issues.

Born and raised in the Bronx, Ms. Vanterpool holds an M.S. in Environmental Policy from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and a B.A. in Environmental Science and Political Science from Binghamton University. While at Binghamton, she drove a bus and trained new bus drivers to meet state commercial driving requirements. She is on the board of the Bronx River Alliance, a Bronx-based organization working to protect and restore the Bronx River corridor, serving four terms as board chair. In 2017, Ms. Vanterpool received the Women in Business/Nonprofit Excellence Award from the New York City Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
