Review the Q8 route summary
As part of the Queens Bus Network Redesign, the proposed Q8 would maintain mostly the same routing, but would be shortened and rerouted at its western end, serving the future accessible New Lots Av station instead of Gateway Center.
This would improve Brooklyn-Queens interborough service, providing a more direct connection to East New York and the train with fewer turns. Service along Fountain Av to Gateway Center would still be provided by the proposed B13. Service between Gateway Center and Queens would be provided by the Queens Bus Network Redesign’s proposed Q51.
As a Limited route, stops would be spaced slightly farther apart than Local routes to improve speed and reliability, but still within walking distance.
Weekday frequencies would be slightly increased to 10-minutes-or-better all-day and service would now be provided 24 hours.
