As part of both the Brooklyn and Queens Bus Network Redesigns, the proposed Q54 would maintain its existing routing with a minor realignment from Metropolitan Av to Hillside Av approaching Jamaica in Queens.
As a Limited route, stops would be spaced slightly farther apart than Local routes to improve speed and reliability, but still within walking distance.
Frequencies would be increased Weekday Middays and Early Evenings to provide all-day frequent service between Brooklyn and Queens. Service would still operate 24 hours.
