About the route
The proposed BM38 Express runs between Bay Ridge and Midtown Manhattan.
The current length of the X37 Express route is 15.6 miles. This would not change under the Draft Plan.
In the existing route, the average stop spacing is 1,058 feet. Under the proposed route, that would increase to 1,392 feet.
In the existing route, there are 0.6 turns per mile. Under the proposed route, that would not change.
Route improvements
- Interborough route
- Improved stop spacing
- Fewer route patterns
Review the BM37 route summary
The X37 would be re-labeled as the BM37 to be consistent with most express routes. The existing route path would be maintained.
As an Express route, stops on local streets would be spaced slightly farther apart than existing to speed up travel time and improve reliability.
Along the highway, Express routes travel non-stop to and from Manhattan. Frequencies and spans would remain the same as the existing X37, other than a slight decrease in inbound frequency due to low ridership on some trips.
