About the route

The proposed BM35 Express runs between Spring Creek and Midtown Manhattan.

The current length of the BM5 Express route is 16.9 miles. This would not change as the BM5 is re-labeled the BM35 Express.

In the existing route, the average stop spacing is 1,662 feet. Under the proposed route, that would increase to 2,115 feet.

In the existing route, there are 0.7 turns per mile. This would remain the same under the proposed route.

Route improvements

  • Interborough route
  • Improved stop spacing
  • Priority Corridor

Review the BM35 route summary

The BM5 would be re-labeled as the BM35 to be consistent with other Brooklyn Express routes to Midtown Manhattan. The existing route path would be maintained.

As an Express route, stops on local streets would be spaced slightly farther apart than existing to speed up travel time and improve reliability. Along the highway, Express routes travel non-stop to and from Manhattan.

Weekday frequencies would remain the same as the existing BM5. Weekday spans would be shortened due to low ridership on some trips. Saturday service would be discontinued due to low ridership.

See the route profile with full stop list.
