Review the BM1c route summary

The proposed BM1c would refer to the Downtown/Midtown off-peak “combo” variant of the existing BM1. The proposed BM1c would mostly maintain its existing routing.

Between Flatbush Av and Ocean Av, the BM1c would use Avenue J instead of Avenue K in order to avoid a difficult series of turns at Avenue K/Flatbush Av. Existing service would be discontinued on this portion of Avenue K. Between Ocean Av and Coney Island Av, the BM1c would use Beverley Rd instead of Cortelyou Rd, a shorter route path that would remove a challenging turn at Coney Island Av/Cortelyou Rd, reducing delays. Existing express service would be discontinued on Cortelyou Rd.

In Manhattan, the proposed BM1c would travel in both directions on Water St in order to simplify service. Service on Trinity Pl and Church St would be provided by the proposed BM7c, BM8c, the M55, and numerous subway lines.

As an Express route, stops on local streets would be spaced slightly farther apart than existing to speed up travel time and improve reliability. Along the highway, Express routes travel non-stop to and from Manhattan.

Weekday spans would be shortened and outbound frequencies reduced due to low ridership on some trips. Saturday service would be discontinued due to low ridership.
