Review the B53 route summary

As part of both the Brooklyn and Queens Bus Net-work Redesigns, the proposed B53 would be a new interborough route serving segments of the existing B24 and B32 and replacing the two routes. The proposed B53 would serve the entire stretch of Broadway from Broadway Junction to Williamsburg, continuing through Williamsburg via Kent Av/Wythe Av, and extending across Greenpoint Av to Sunnyside, connecting to the train at the future accessible 46 St-Bliss St station. The route would replace existing Q24 service from Broadway Junction to Lafayette Av (the proposed Q24 would still operate on Atlantic Av east of Broadway Junction). It would also replace the existing B32 in its entirety and the northern seg-ment of the existing B24 on Greenpoint Av (the other half of the B24 would be served by the Queens Bus Network Redesign’s proposed Q68).

As a Local route, stops would be spaced slightly farther apart than existing to speed up buses and improve reliability. Frequencies would be increased compared to existing B24 and B32.

Service would operate 24 hours (between Broadway Junction and Williamsburg Plaza only).
