About the route
The proposed B4 Local runs between Bay Ridge and Sheepshead Bay.
The current length of the B4 Local route is 9.2 miles. This would not change under the Draft Plan.
In the existing route, the average stop spacing is 761 feet. Under the proposed route, that would increase to 1,015 feet.
In the existing route, there are 2.1 turns per mile. Under the proposed route, that would decrease to 1.5 turns per mile.
The route would include connections to the B1, B3, B5, B6, B6 LTD, B8, B16, B36, B37, B44, B44-SBS, B49, B63, B64, B68, B70, B74, B82, and B82-SBS. It would also connect to the and trains.

Review the B4 route summary
The proposed B4 would be rerouted in its central section. It would replace B64 service on Stillwell Av and provide service along more of Neptune Av, including to the future accessible Neptune Av F station. This new route path would increase reliability by removing turns from the route. Existing B4 service on Shell Rd and Avenue Z would be discontinued. The B1 would continue to serve 86 St and Ocean Pkwy.
As a Local route, stops would be spaced slightly farther apart than existing to speed up buses and improve reliability.
No frequency or service span changes are being proposed at this time.
