About the route
The proposed B15 Local runs between Bedford-Stuyvesant and East New York.
The current length of the B15 route is 13.1 miles. The proposed B15 Local route is 8.2 miles.
In the existing route, the average stop spacing is 1,009 feet. Under the proposed route, that would decrease to 896 feet. Along most of the route, stops would be spaced farther apart than before, but the removal of JFK Airport from the route decreases the average.
In the existing route, there are 2.7 turns per mile. Under the proposed route, that would decrease to 1.9 turns per mile.
The route would include connections to the B6-LTD, B7, B8, B10, B12, B13, B14, B20, B25, B26, B35, B38, B43, B45, B46, B47, B52, B53, B54, B55, B60, B64, B66, B76, B83, Q8, and the trains.

Review the B15 route summary
The proposed B15 would be shortened on its eastern end, with all trips terminating at Drew St/Linden Blvd, and would no longer travel to JFK Airport in order to improve reliability.
Service to JFK Airport would be provided by the new proposed B55 Crosstown, which would also provide additional service on Linden Blvd and New Lots Av.
In Bedford-Stuyvesant/Crown Heights, the proposed B15 would stay on Ralph Av to St Marks Av and Bergen St, removing turns and reducing delays. Existing B15 service on St Johns Pl and Buffalo Av would be discontinued. Between Bergen St and Broadway, the proposed northbound B15 would travel on Kingston Av and Throop Av instead of Troy Av and Lewis Av, providing increased frequency along with the B43 between Bedford-Stuyvesant and Williamsburg and providing a new connection to the Kingston-Throop Avs station. Existing northbound B15 service on Troy Av and Lewis Av would be discontinued.
The proposed B15 would be extended on its northern end, providing a new connection to the Montrose Av station via Flushing Av and Bushwick Av.
As a Local route, stops would be spaced slightly farther apart than existing to speed up buses and improve reliability. Frequencies would be slightly decreased, as the proposed B55 Crosstown, B43, and B65 would provide additional service along much of the route. The route would remain 10-minutes-or-better all day on weekdays though. No service span changes are being proposed at this time.
