Review the Bx26 Route Summary

Route

The Bx26 routing will not change. It will continue to provide a one-seat connection between Co-op City, Allerton Avenue, and the Allerton Av  .

Note: The Draft Plan proposed terminating the Bx26 at Asch Loop in Co-op City. This proposal will not be implemented.

Key connecting routes include: Bx1Bx2Bx8Bx10Bx31Bx34Bx39, and Bx41 Select Bus Service.

Stops

Seventeen percent (17 of 77) of the Bx26 stops will be removed, improving the average distance between stops from 799 feet to 1,029 feet. By removing these stops, we’ll improve reliability along the route.

See the route profile with full stop list.

Schedule

The Bx25 and Bx26 will have the same combined service frequencies and spans as the existing Bx26 on Allerton Avenue. However, the service in Co-op City will alternate between the two routes, making every other trip a Bx26 trip. While this splits the frequencies to Section 5 in half, it provides a new direct connection from the northern sections to the Bedford Park area. Where the two routes overlap, the combined all-day weekday frequency will still be 15 minutes or better. The Bx26 will have the same service frequency and span as it currently does.
