Route
The Bx4 routing will not change. The route is already straight and direct.
Key connecting routes include: Bx19, Bx27, Bx35, Bx36, Bx39, and Q44 Select Bus Service.
Note: though the Bx4 routing will not change, the Bx4A routing will be changing.
Stops
Ten percent (6 of 60) of the Bx4 stops will be removed, improving the average distance between stops from 808 feet to 900 feet. By removing these stops, we’ll improve reliability along the route.

Schedule
The Bx4 weekday schedule will improve to 15 minutes or better all day. The shortening of the Bx4A frees up resources we will use to increase service frequency on both the Bx4 and Bx4A. Where the two routes overlap, the combined all-day weekday frequency will be 8 minutes or better. Weekend frequencies will also improve, as shown below. Due to the Bx4A routing change, ridership will be closely monitored, and schedules will be adjusted accordingly.
