Route

The Bx25 is a new route serving Co-op City and the eastern Bronx. Outside Co-op City, the Bx25 will follow the same routing as the Bx26 along Allerton Avenue. Within Co-op City, the Bx25 will follow the same routing as the Bx38, traveling on Baychester Avenue and Co-op City Boulevard before terminating at the Bay Plaza Shopping Center in the eastbound direction.

Key connecting routes include: Bx1, Bx2, Bx8, Bx10, Bx31, Bx34, Bx39, and Bx41 Select Bus Service.

Stops

No stops unique to the Bx25 will be removed, as it is a new route. However, the Bx25 will reflect the stops removed from the Bx26 and Bx38, respectively. Nineteen percent (16 of 83) of these stops will be removed, giving the Bx25 an average stop spacing of 1,114 feet. By removing these stops, we’ll improve reliability along the route.

Schedule

The Bx25 and Bx26 will have the same combined service frequencies and spans as the existing Bx26 on Allerton Avenue. However, the service in Co-op City will alternate between the two routes, making every other trip a Bx25 trip. While this splits the frequencies to Section 5 in half, it provides a new direct connection from the northern sections to the Bedford Park area. Where the two routes overlap, the combined all-day weekday frequency will still be 15 minutes or better. The Bx25 will have the same service frequency and span as it currently does.

*Service on Allerton Avenue has not been reduced, but rather, split with the NEW Bx25 to the northern sections of Co-op City; the frequencies shown here are at Bay Plaza.
