New York City’s streets are filled with holiday shoppers this year, and you can beat the crowds by shopping for your loved ones the fastest and safest way on the New York Transit Museum Store website. Lovers of transit and New York can purchase gifts online from ornaments to apparel to a variety of masks to stay safe while riding with the MTA.

“We are so delighted to welcome everyone to the New York Transit Museum throughout this holiday season.  The New York Transit Museum’s retail stores and online experience have long been a favorite for shoppers who are looking for that unique and “ultimate New York” holiday gift,” said Concetta Bencivenga, Director of The New York Transit Museum.?

Can’t think of the perfect gift? Don’t worry – here are some suggestions from MTA leadership:

Janno Lieber, Acting MTA Chair and CEO, picked the full selection of ‘Welcome Back’ gifts. “New York is coming back, and the MTA is ready to get everyone around town for shopping, dining, theater, sports, Broadway and all of the holiday lights.”

Craig Cipriano, NYC Transit Interim President, picked the Subway logo L train ornament because “everyone has their own go to train line and growing up in Canarsie the L was and will always be mine.”?

Frank Annicaro, President of MTA Bus Company, picked the 11-inch MTA Blue Bus.?“Who wouldn’t want this bus? I am so proud of the resiliency and accomplishments the bus team has exhibited over the past year I couldn’t wish for anything else.?Perhaps I’ll wish for several so I can give them as gifts to my colleagues at the other MTA Agencies.?Happy Holidays!”

Catherine Rinaldi, President of the Metro-North Railroad, picked the “Next Stop Grand Central” children’s book. “It’s a children’s book that is populated with real people from Metro-North’s history. You can’t go wrong with a classic.”

Phil Eng, President of the Long Island Rail Road, picked the “Long Island Rail Road Potholder.” “The pandemic has reminded us all how important it is to spend quality time with family and friends.  So, pick up an LIRR Potholder to help you safely handle those hot food items as you embrace time together sharing family stories, traditions and events around the kitchen table.”

Daniel F. DeCrescenzo Jr., President of MTA Bridges and Tunnels, picked the “Take Care Wear Mask Ornament” symbolizing the MTA’s Operation Respect Campaign. “This ornament reminds me of how we kept each other safe and continue to take care of each other.”

Jamie Torres-Springer, President of MTA Construction & Development picked the “Thumbs Up Face Mask.” “This mask reminds me that if we take care of each other by masking up, everyone can continue to safely ride our system as we continue to welcome New York City back.”

On a recent shopping trip to the New York Transit Museum Store, MTA Chief Customer Officer Sarah Meyer picked the MTA Blue 16-inch Articulated Bus. “This model shows off our beautiful bus fleet and it’s really popular on the playground.”
