Statement from NYC Transit President Demetrius Crichlow on Arrest of Fare Evader With Loaded Gun

"Yet again, a person stopped for not paying the fare turned out to be carrying a loaded gun, and was arrested by vigilant NYPD officers. Thanks to surged patrols in stations, which riders repeatedly tell us are reassuring, when subway crimes do occur criminals are spotted on cameras and rapidly caught. We've said it many times — criminals don't pay to ride and stopping them at the gate makes us all safer."
