Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) Chair and CEO Janno Lieber hosted a roundtable discussion today with members of New York City’s multicultural media outlets at MTA headquarters. Representatives of more than a dozen multicultural media outlets covering communities throughout the five boroughs were present. The roundtable included an open, on-the-record conversation with questions from the media covering topics ranging from increasing  train service in Greenpoint to the rollout of OMNY and fare promotions.

Outlets represented included: Rampa TV and Radio, Caribbean American Weekly, Dunya International TV, China Press, Jewish Forward, Black Star News, News India Times, Irish Echo, Sing Tao, Haiti Progres, Turkish Journal, SunuAfrik Radio, Queens Latino, Allewaa Alarabi, and the Bangladesh Pratidin.

“The strength of New York is in its incredibly diverse communities from Flatbush to Flushing,” said MTA Chair and CEO Janno Lieber. “New York’s multicultural media speak to these communities in dozens of languages with unique perspectives on the day-to-day experience of riders. I welcome the opportunity to have a dialogue with members of the press from our city’s wide array of publications and outlets around the transit priorities of their communities and how the MTA can continue to serve New Yorkers in every community.”
