Updated Aug 18, 2024 10:15 p.m.

Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) Metro-North Railroad service was suspended on the Waterbury and Danbury branches at approximately 8:10 p.m. Sunday, August 18, due to weather-related flooding. On the Waterbury Branch, flooding caused a mudslide that contributed to conditions leading to a suspension.

Train service will remain suspended through rush hour tomorrow, Monday Aug. 19.

Customers may consider traveling to the nearest alternate station on the New Haven or Harlem lines. Some New Haven Line trains will make additional stops at Rowayton, Darien, and Noroton Heights.

Metro-North crews are on standby to assess damage and work to clear the area once the storm passes.

As the storm continues through the night, customers are encouraged to check the TrainTime app or visit mta.info before traveling for the latest service updates.
