161 Total Speakers Addressed MTA Leaders and Board Members Through Two Hearings; Nearly 300 Speakers Registered for Final Two Hearings
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) on Friday morning, March 1, held the second of four public hearings on the proposed congestion pricing toll schedule, hearing from 72 speakers in just over three hours of testimony. Including 89 speakers from Thursday, 161 speakers have addressed MTA leaders and board members about congestion pricing.
Each speaker was given up to two minutes to address a panel of MTA leaders and board members including: MTA Chair and CEO Janno Lieber; MTA General Counsel Paige Graves; MTA Chief Accessibility Officer and Senior Advisor Quemuel Arroyo; NYC Transit President Richard Davey; Acting LIRR President Rob Free; Deputy Chief, Policy and External Relations Juliette Michaelson, MTA Bridges and Tunnels Chief Operating Officer Allison L. C. de Cerreño; MTA Board Members Haeda Mihaltses, Jamey Barbas and Midori Valdivia.
There are two more hearings scheduled before the MTA Board is slated to adopt a recommendation. The final two hearings are scheduled for Monday, March 4 at 10:00 a.m. and at 6:00 p.m.
As of Friday afternoon, 288 speakers have registered for the final two hearings. Registration for those hearings close 30 minutes after each hearing begins.
