Public Encouraged to Take Mass Transit to Parade
Buses Along Fifth Ave Subject to Reroutes and Delays
Subway, LIRR, and Metro-North Running Regular Schedules
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) New York City Transit (NYCT) is encouraging those planning to attend the annual New York City Veterans Day Parade on Saturday, Nov. 11, to take public transportation to the parade route. The parade begins at 9:30 a.m. and runs north along Fifth Ave. from 26 St. to 47 St. To get to the parade route, customers can ride the subway to the following stations:
- 23 St
- 23 St
- 28 St
- 28 St
- 42 St-Bryant Park
- Grand Central-42 St
In addition, there will be impacts to bus service with buses running along Fifth Ave. subject to reroutes and delays during the parade.
Bus Service
- X27, X28, BXM3, BXM4, BXM6, BXM7, BXM8, BXM9, BXM10, BXM11, M1, M2, M3, SIM1C, SIM3C, SIM4C, SIM33C will use Lexington Ave.
- M4, M5, M55 will use Seventh Ave.
- QM2, QM4, QM5, QM6 will use Madison Ave.
- Q32 will use Sixth Ave. Northbound and Seventh Ave. Southbound
Buses not running on the impacted routes will run on normal Saturday schedules.
New York City Subway
Subway service will run on a regular weekend schedule.
Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Railroad
Both the Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Railroad will run on a regular weekend schedule.

Email & Text Alerts – Customers can sign up for email and SMS alerts tailored to their specific commutes and travel times. They can also sign up for MTA newsletters like The Weekender, a weekly newsletter that covers major weekend planned service changes. Customers can sign up here.
WhatsApp – Riders can chat with NYC Transit via WhatsApp for 24/7 customer assistance. With the help of Google Translate, NYC Transit staff offer real-time customer support in up to 108 languages.
511 – For those who prefer to contact the MTA by telephone, information is available by dialing 511. Those who are deaf or hard of hearing can use their preferred service provider for the free 711 relay to reach the MTA at 511.
