Public Encouraged to Take Mass Transit to Parade
Buses Along Fifth Ave Subject to Reroutes and Delays
Subway, LIRR, and Metro-North Running Regular Schedules
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) New York City Transit (NYCT) is encouraging those planning to attend the annual New York City Veterans Day Parade on Friday, Nov. 11, to take public transportation to the parade route. The parade begins at 12:00 p.m. and runs north along Fifth Ave from 26 St to 45 St. To get to the parade route, customers can ride the subway to the following stations:
- 23 St
- 23 St
- 28 St
- 28 St
- 42 St-Bryant Park
- Grand Central-42 St
In addition, there will be impacts to bus service with buses running along Fifth Ave subject to reroutes and delays during the parade.
Bus Service
- BM1, BM2, BM3, BM4, BM5, X27, X28, X63, X64, X68, BXM3, BXM4, BXM6, BXM7, BXM8, BXM9, BXM10, BXM11, M1, M2, M3, M4, M5, SIM1C, SIM3C, SIM4C, SIM10, SIM33C, SIM31 will use Lexington Avenue
- QM1, QM2, QM3, QM4, QM5, QM6, QM10, QM12, QM20 will use Madison Avenue
- Q32 will use Sixth Avenue Northbound and Seventh Avenue Southbound
- SIM8, SIM8X, SIM23, SIM24, SIM25, SIM30 will use Seventh Avenue
Buses not running on the impacted routes will run on regular weekday schedules. For travelers flying into and out of LaGuardia Airport, the Q70 LaGuardia Link bus is free.
New York City Subway
Subway service will run on a regular weekday schedule.
Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Railroad
Both the Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Railroad will run on a regular weekday schedule.

WhatsApp – Customers can chat with NYC Transit via WhatsApp. Riders can receive customer service support in their native language through the help of Google Translate.
TrainTime App - In August, the MTA launched a totally revamped TrainTime app as the new one-stop app for commuter rail customers in the region, showing all train schedules for 30 days in the future. The app replaced MTA eTix app and added the functionality of previously separate TrainTime apps for Metro-North Railroad and Long Island Rail Road, merging ticket purchasing, trip planning, real-time train location data. Since its launch, TrainTime has been downloaded at a rate of 6,000 per day, with about 200,000 daily active users on a normal weekday. The app has 4.9 stars in the App Store with 27,000 reviews.
