38 Additional Trains and Shuttle Trains Supplement Already Robust Service to Yankee Stadium

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) Metro-North Railroad today announced additional service to take fans to Yankee Stadium for the “Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl” game between the University of Nebraska and Boston College at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28. The game will be the first-ever meeting between Nebraska and Boston College.

The railroad is operating additional service to and from Yankee Stadium to help fans avoid the aggravation and stress of weekend highway travel.

“There’s so much extra traffic on the roads during the holidays and Metro-North is the safest, fastest, cheapest, and greenest way for Hudson Valley, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Long Island fans to get to the game,” said Metro-North Railroad President Catherine Rinaldi. “Metro-North is thrilled to be part of another College Football Bowl game with expanded service options to Yankee Stadium from the Hudson, Harlem, and New Haven lines."

On the Hudson Line, ten trains from Poughkeepsie, Croton-Harmon and Grand Central Terminal will make special stops at Yankees-E. 153rd Street, across the street from Yankee Stadium, as well as three extra shuttle trains operating between Grand Central Terminal, Harlem-125th Street, and Yankee Stadium.

After the game, 14 Hudson Line trains to Croton-Harmon, Poughkeepsie, and Grand Central Terminal will make extra stops at Yankee Stadium through 5 p.m. to take fans home, along with three shuttle trains to Harlem-125th Street and Grand Central Terminal.

Harlem Line customers can ride any regularly scheduled train to Harlem-125 Street station and transfer to a frequent Hudson Line or shuttle train for the short five-minute ride to Yankee Stadium.

On the New Haven Line, there will be two direct trains to the game from New Haven and Stamford. The trains depart New Haven at 7:54 a.m. and 8:54 a.m., making stops to Stamford and arriving at Yankee Stadium at 9:55 a.m. and 10:55 a.m.

After the game, there will be two direct trains on the New Haven Line, with one train operating express to Stamford and then making stops to New Haven, and the second train making all stops between Mount Vernon East and New Haven. New Haven Line passengers can also ride any regularly scheduled New Haven Line train to Harlem-125th Street station and transfer to a frequent shuttle or Hudson Line train for the short five-minute ride to the stadium.

Shuttle and regularly scheduled trains will also operate between Grand Central Terminal, Harlem-125th Street, and Yankees-E. 153rd Street which connect with regularly scheduled Harlem and New Haven Line trains and also provide service for passengers connecting at Grand Central Terminal from Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) trains via Grand Central Madison.

Schedules and fares are available on the TrainTime app and mta.info.

Customers within New York City or Long Island can get to Yankee Stadium via the subway, bus, paratransit, or LIRR, with an easy connection to Metro-North trains from the recently reopened and refurbished Biltmore Room that provides a connection between the LIRR and Metro-North concourses within Grand Central.
