Swipe your MetroCard, win free stuff!
The Extra Credit program encourages MetroCard usage among students who use a Student MetroCard. Students who swipe their MetroCards will be entered to win a Meta Quest 2. Every time you swipe, you have another chance at winning the prize!
Eligibility
To be eligible to participate in the Extra Credit program, students must be enrolled as a high school student in grades 9-12 within NYC's five boroughs. Participation is limited to students who possess valid Student MetroCards, and they must be the ones using the cards.
Only swipes during the hours of 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. are considered valid entries, and students must be in attendance at school for the full school week.
Rewards
Starting May 20, we will select winners for five Meta Quest 2 sets each week for four weeks, with one winner per borough. Prizes may change depending on student feedback. Once a winner is selected for a borough, that borough can no longer have a winner for that week. Prizes must be picked up by the student and a legal guardian at the MTA's headquarters at 2 Broadway in Manhattan. The deadline for prize pickup is end of day on July 1, 2024.
