Route
The Bx4A routing will change. The new Bx4A will travel from Westchester Square to Southern Boulevard, using its current routing via Metropolitan Avenue and Westchester Avenue. The Bx4 routing will remain unchanged, with service from Westchester Avenue to The Hub maintained.
Key connecting routes include: Bx19, Bx27, Bx35, Bx36, Bx39, and Q44 Select Bus Service.
Stops
Fifteen percent (7 of 48) of the Bx4A stops will be removed, improving the average distance between stops from 762 feet to 899 feet. By removing these stops, we’ll improve reliability along the route.

Schedule
The shortening of the Bx4A frees up resources we will use to increase service frequency on both the Bx4 and Bx4A. Where the two routes overlap, the combined all-day weekday frequency will be 8 minutes or better. Weekend frequencies will also improve, as shown below.
