Service Change
For three twelve-hour periods this weekend, eastbound Main Line trains will operate nonstop from Penn Station to Jamaica so that signal testing work for the East Side Access (ESA) Project can be safely performed. As a result, Main Line trains in these time periods will bypass Woodside, Forest Hills and Kew Gardens:
- 10:00 PM, Friday, June 18, through 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 19
- 8:00 PM, Saturday, June 19, through 8:00 AM, Sunday, June 20
- 5:00 PM Sunday, June 20, through 5:00 AM, Monday, June 21
Port Washington Branch trains (eastbound and westbound) will continue to stop at Woodside throughout the weekend.
Alternate Subway Service
During these time periods, NYC Transit (NYCT) will cross-honor LIRR tickets at:
- 34 St/Penn Station
- Woodside/61 St
- Forest Hills/71 Av
- Kew Gardens/Union Turnpike
Customers traveling from Woodside to Jamaica and points east may also take a westbound train to Penn Station at no additional charge and transfer for eastbound service. Additional westbound trains will stop at Woodside while the signal testing work takes place.
