Welcome Back!
Welcome Back New York and Connecticut!
Many of you are heading back to the office this fall, and we are happy to see you on the trains again!
You’re in good company. Our railroad carried 122,504 riders on Monday, September 13 — the highest ridership since the pandemic began in March 2020. That's a nice change from the last year and a half.
"We are excited to see so many customers returning to their weekday commutes now that Labor Day has passed and more people are returning to school and to the office,” said Catherine Rinaldi, President of Metro-North Railroad. “As the region continues to recover from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, Metro-North is eager to welcome even more of its weekday customers back, providing safe, frequent and reliable service on trains that are cleaner than ever."
When you return to Metro-North, more than 100 station ambassadors will be there in the morning to greet you, and you will see that our stations and trains are cleaner than ever before. We’re also handing out more than 2,000 face masks each week so that you can continue to ride our trains with confidence.
As a reminder, face masks are required inside stations and trains, as well as at Grand Central Terminal at all times. You can get a free face mask from the station ambassador or a conductor.
Whether you are riding on Metro-North or traveling on via the subway or bus after you arrive at Grand Central Terminal, the video above is our collective message to you: Welcome Back!
