TC SAXMAN

Henry A. Johnson aka TC SAXMAN was born in Brooklyn and began his music career at the age of eight, playing clarinet in the school band at P.S.1. Continuing diligently on the clarinet until sixteen years of age, he switched to the saxophone when he heard Maceo Parker and King Curtis. They became his idols, and Henry has been playing the saxophone ever since.

TC SAXMAN has been fortunate to perform with artists including The Chi-Lites, Barcays (Otis Redding’s band), Chuck Jackson and Rick James. He has performed solo at the United Nations and with The Intruders at the Apollo, with reggae band EMS Squad at Madison Square Garden, and with the Fred Thomas Band at B.B. King’s. TC SAXMAN has performed at a Rolls Royce event, with Swann Conaway and The Romantics on the Coney Island boardwalk, and with The Phoenix, when he met the bassist Cris. This sparked an ongoing collaborative musical relationship, and they formed their band, Just the Two of Us.
