The Raices Group consists of musicians from the Andes region of Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia. The group was formed by Edgar K’jachamallku Paucar, a native Quechua from Ecuador. After performing in Europe and Asia, Raices Group settled in New York City. Its performances as members of Music Under New York (MTA MUSIC) have resulted in numerous professional opportunities. The group has performed at concert halls such as Avery Fisher Hall, Symphony Space, Town Hall, and Carnegie Hall. Paucar holds honorary positions at various Inti Raymi celebrations, which are traditional festivals held on the Summer Solstice. Raices Group has produced nine recordings. The group's goal is to promote the indigenous Andean way of life.
