Founded in 2005, Opera Collective consists of nine core members with rotating singers and pianists on their roster. An active part of Music Under New York (MTA MUSIC), the group regularly performs at various public locations throughout Manhattan. It has been featured three times in the Summer Sundays Series at Snug Harbor Cultural Center on Staten Island, and conducts educational outreach across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. The group has collaborated with Kids & Dreamers Productions, performed a live broadcast from Battery Park, and appeared on the NHK (Japan Broadcasting) documentary series “New York Streets.” Its mission is to make opera, operetta, and musical theater accessible, affordable, and wholly engaging to the general public.
