About the Artist

Laura F. Gibellini is an artist working between Madrid and NYC. Her work has been shown internationally, and she has been a recent fellow at the Spanish Academy in Rome and an artist in residence at The Banff Centre for Arts & Creativity (Alberta) among others. "Dom (Variations)" appears in mosaic at Fresh Pond Station, and in glass at the Seneca Ave and Forest Ave stations in Queens. Reflecting the path that flows from within the interior space of a cozy home to the exterior world, the artworks trace the daily commute to work and the return home. Domestic artifacts bring a human scale to an otherwise everyday subway passage. The work seeks to inspire an ethereal and dreamy atmosphere that evokes memories of the past and of a dreamed home.
