About the Artist

Cara Lynch is a visual artist working in sculpture, print, and public installation. She has completed a number of large-scale public projects around the New York area. She has recently completed projects for NYC Department of Parks and Recreation, NYC Department of Transportation, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

At Ditmas Ave in Brooklyn, "Inheritance: In Memory of American Glass" celebrates the vast diversity of people and cultures in the Kensington neighborhood. Lynch was inspired by the decorative elements in household glassware that was mass-produced and widely available during the late 19th and first half of the 20th centuries, the same period when Brooklyn neighborhoods were developing rapidly and subway stations were being built.
