About the Poet

Jim Moore is the author of numerous collections of poetry, including "Invisible Strings," "Lightning at Dinner," "The Freedom of History," and "The Long Experience of Love." Moore has received numerous awards and fellowships from the Bush Foundation, The Loft, the McKnight Foundation, and the Minnesota State Arts Board. He teaches at Hamline University in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and at the Colorado College in Colorado Springs. He lives in Saint Paul, Minnesota and Spoleto, Italy.

About the Artist

John Cavanagh is an artist, photographer, and designer who created "Commuting/Community" for the 61 St-Woodside station in 1986. The work reflects John Cavanagh's impressions of Woodside, a Queens neighborhood where railroad and subway lines intersect. The photo-montage murals are related to one another in revealing the daily life of Woodside's residents. He currently lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
