About the Poet

Galway Kinnell (1927 - 2014) won the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award for his Selected Poems (1982). From 1989 to 1993, he was Poet Laureate of Vermont. His books include "The Book of Nightmares" (1971), "Imperfect Thirst" (1994), "A New Selected Poems" (2001), and "Strong Is Your Hold" (2006).

About the Artist

William Low is an award-winning painter and illustrator. Many of his original paintings are on permanent view around the country. In 2011, Low was commissioned by MTA Arts & Design to create "A Day In Parkchester," a faceted glass installation featuring two picturesque day and night views of the neighborhood for the elevated Parkchester subway station on the 6 line in the Bronx. Low has published several children’s picture books. He is currently a professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City in the undergraduate program.
