Dingonek Street Band is a Brooklyn-based brass band dedicated to "sonic adventure." The group plays a funky, high-energy party music rooted in the New Orleans "Second Line" brass band tradition. The band originated in Boston in 2013 with an extended Monday-night residency at the legendary Middle East nightclub, where it honed its brass arrangements and mix of trad-jazz to post-bop standards. In 2015, the group relocated to Brooklyn, where it has embraced the funkier side of its diverse repertoire. Dingonek plays at rock clubs, jazz clubs, and other venues across the region. Its recording "Primal Economics" was released by Accurate Records in 2017.
