About the Poet
Kay Ryan (b. 1945), U.S. Poet Laureate, 2008 - 2010, a MacArthur and Guggenheim Fellow, and the recipient of the Ruth Lilly Poetry Prize, is the author of "Flamingo Watching" (1994), "Elephant Rocks" (1996), "Say Uncle: Poems" (2000), "The Niagara River" (2005), and "The Best of It: New and Selected Poems" (2010).
About the Artist
Joy Taylor works in a variety of media, inspired by natural forms. She mixes materials and imagery to create new meanings, often inspired by nature as a means of grounding viewers with their environments. Taylor studied art at Skidmore College. She is both artist and graphic designer, and her work has been widely exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the United States
