About the Project

Inspired by the architectural design of the station, artist Michael Ingui sought to capture its energy through “Crescendo.” The brilliant green and blue colors are used to accentuate the geometry and directional quality of the structure--emphasizing the station's structural elements--and to unify the different events on the panels to create a single vision. The lines of the glass panels are in continuous motion--just like the trains and passengers that travel by them every day.

About the Artist

Michael Ingui is an artist and architect at the New York based sustainable architectural design firm Baxt Ingui Architects PC. He paints primarily with enamel, oils and an acrylic mix with a pouring medium. The figurative nature of the lines and vibrant colors of Michael Ingui’s paintings explore rhythm, movement and energy. Ingui’s intuitive nature of his paintings can be attributed directly to his love of music, particularly jazz. His paintings capture the movement in music, with each line and movement affecting the next like a live jazz performance, a continuous reaction as the paint dries quickly. Ingui has had solo shows in San Diego and NYC and has been involved with many group shows and local artists groups.
