Anthony Carrera

Anthony Carrera is a multi-instrumentalist devoted to the study of world music. He began playing guitar in his early teens and later studied classical guitar, Western music theory, and flamenco guitar techniques, refining his skills through private lessons while attending college. After college, Carrera was accepted as a student of the sitar master Shri Partha Sarathi Chatterjee. He has also studied the handpan, a recently developed instrument related to the steelpan or steel drum. Carrera performs around New York City, merging improvisation with a unique style of instrumentation on classical guitar, flamenco guitar, sitar, and handpan.
