Anil Salem experiments with many styles of music, especially Celtic and Indian music, providing listeners with unique cultural experiences. His busking CD "Roots" is a collection of instrumentals conveying "stories that could not be put into words." Salem has performed at the Apollo Theater, played himself in the theater show "Buskers, The Musical," and recently recorded his debut studio album, "Anil Salem."

As well as composing music, Salem enjoys researching musical styles and learning new instruments. He plays the classical guitar, acoustic guitar, 12-string guitar, harp guitar, lap steel guitar, bass guitar, banjo, ukulele, mandolin, hammered dulcimer, flute, French horn, piano, and drums. He also plays hammered dulcimer and harp guitar simultaneously in a unique style he calls "dulcitarring."
