What are we doing?
We're taking a holistic, clean-slate look at Bronx bus service which has not substantially changed in decades, despite rapid change and development in the borough.
Why are we doing it?
Currently, with an average weekday ridership of 515,000, the Bronx is served by 57 routes. Bus speeds average 6.9 miles per hour. As congestion has worsened, bus speeds have slowed. In fact, the Bronx has the second slowest bus speeds in NYC. We want to make it better and get people trusting the bus system again.
What have we accomplished so far?
Take a look at the presentation we delivered to elected officials back in September briefing them about the process.
