168 St Elevator Replacement

Beginning 12:01 AM Saturday, January 5, 1 trains will not stop at 168 St. 1 service will resume in early 2020. We are replacing all four station elevators, so the 1 platform will be inaccessible. The A and C trains will still be running to this station.

We are installing four new elevator cars. We are upgrading elevator shafts and stairways. We are replacing mechanical components. This work will make the elevators more reliable

Other ways to get to this area

Take the A or C trains to this station, or 1 to 157 St and transfer to the M5 bus.

To connect between the A and C and the 1:

Transfer 59 St-Columbus Circle, or
Transfer free out-of-system with MetroCard between the 1 stations at 207 St or 215 St, and the A station at 207 St.

Take the M5 bus to/from the 157 St 1 subway station. Late nights, the M5 will run between 168 St and 157 St. Free transfers are also available to/from M3 and M4 buses.
