Red-Tailed Hawk Released After Five Months of Rehabilitation at Nearby Animal Care Facility
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) today announced it is entering a new phase of the vaccination or testing program in which unvaccinated employees will be required weekly to test for COVID-19 beginning on Monday, Oct. 4. The MTA currently has 138 on-site locations for employees to get tested.
MTA Bridges and Tunnels today announced the Hugh L. Carey Tunnel will fully close to traffic on Sunday, Sept. 26, from 7:45 a.m. until approximately 3 p.m. to accommodate the City’s annual Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Run, commemorating the FDNY firefighter’s run through the tunnel to the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001.
Event preparations will take place overnight, with one tube of the tunnel closed from 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, through 7:45 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 26. One lane will remain open in each direction in the remaining tube during this time.
