On Thursday, November 25, the LIRR will operate extra trains to and from Penn Station for those attending the Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Westbound Service

Port Jefferson Branch

  • 6:10 a.m. train from Port Jefferson, making all stops to Huntington and Jamaica, then Penn Station.

Ronkonkoma Branch

  • 6:10 a.m.and 7:10 a.m.trains from Ronkonkoma, making all stops to Hicksville, Jamaica, and Woodside, then Penn Station.

Montauk Branch

On the afternoon of Wednesday, November 24, the LIRR will provide additional eastbound service from Penn Station as follows:

On Monday, November 15, 2021, new timetables will take effect on all Long Island Rail Road branches. Highlights of this schedule change include the restoration of two rush-hour Port Washington Branch trains, and adjustments to several morning Ronkonkoma Branch trains to improve service reliability during the fall/winter seasons when slippery rail and/or icy conditions can affect train operations. All riders should check the LIRR TrainTime app or view the latest PDF timetables for their branch. Printed timetables will not be distributed.

Service Change Overview

Special weekend timetables will be in effect for all branches on the weekends of October 23-24 and 30-31 as we modernize switches in Queens Interlocking to improve service flexibility and reliability.

To allow this work to proceed, the LIRR will suspend Main Line train service between Hicksville and Jamaica.

All Port Washington Branch trains will be stopping at Mets-Willets Point Station for customers attending the Governors Ball Music Festival at Citi Field.

Trip Planning

Direct train service to Citi Field is available from Penn Station, Woodside, and all stations on the Port Washington Branch. Currently, all regularly scheduled Port Washington Branch trains stop at Mets-Willets Point. Use the LIRR TrainTime app or view the PDF timetable for train times.

Added Service at Forest Hills

The LIRR will provide extra service for fans attending the NAS Benefiting City Harvest concert at Forest Hills Stadium on Thursday, September 23. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.; show begins at 8 p.m.

On the weekends of September 25-26 and October 2-3, 9-10, 16-17, we will be modernizing our track infrastructure by installing new, longer-lasting concrete ties on a busy portion of track between Jamaica and Valley Stream. See below for how this may affect your travel plans.

On Wednesday, September 15, the LIRR will provide added service for customers leaving work in the early afternoon in observance of Yom Kippur. Ten additional eastbound trains will depart Penn Station between 12:43 p.m. and 3:48 p.m., and one local train to Hicksville will be extended to Huntington.

Ronkonkoma Branch

  • 12:43 p.m. train stopping at Woodside, Jamaica, Mineola, and Hicksville, then local to Ronkonkoma

Montauk Branch Service Change

From September 14-16 and 21-23, midday Montauk Branch trains will operate on adjusted schedules as we test the tracks to ensure rail safety. Some trains between Babylon and Patchogue/Speonk are cancelled – substitute bus service will be provided, or you can use other remaining trains.
